OPENING CEREMONY OF THE

Directing Team Member, Choreographer

As a member of the directing team for the Opening Ceremony of the 7th CISM Military World Games, I participated in the creative development, mid-stage production, and final rehearsal processes of the large-scale cultural performance. In my role as choreographer and co-creator, I contributed to the overall artistic vision and movement design of the show, which combined dance, multimedia, and large ensemble formations to narrate 5,000 years of Chinese civilization.

The cultural performance was divided into two main chapters, tracing the evolution of Chinese culture from antiquity to the present day, centered on the themes of harmony, peace, and the pursuit of civilization. I worked primarily on the second chapter, which focused on contemporary expressions of these values and their resonance in today’s global context. My responsibilities included choreographic design, movement direction, and close collaboration with teams across stage design, music, and visual production to construct a cohesive narrative through embodied performance.

This national-level project brought together leading artists from across the country and involved the coordination of thousands of performers under a tight schedule. It was a valuable creative experience that deepened my engagement with national storytelling through the lens of embodied, collective performance.
